Well I have to say that the Robert Rich show at Analogue Haven was nothing short of amazing. I really enjoyed seeing Robert play live and naturally enjoyed the times when he started turing knobs on the MOTM the best! The MOTM-650 was proudly displayed in the middle of the top row of his synth. Can't wait till my big box comes with my MOTM-650 and other modules recently ordered. Robert played a mixture of music from the incredible new Electric Ladder CD (opened wiht title track) and some older tracks from Bestiary and others. So amazing to see the performance live and at Robert's recommendation at the start of the show I truly did "space out". Many people looked asleep at times but the music was so penetrating that I knew those people were safely away wandering the deeper corners of their minds. The MOTM was in fine form and really strongly used in the show. I loved the live feel to Robert mixing Abletong Live Audio, MIDI sequences and Live Tweaking of the big unit to make the show happen.
I did not expect the guitar and flute parts to be so interesting live but they really stole the show. That lap guitar sounds so haunting and I enjoyed seeing Robert play it all live. A great show and I hope to make it again next time he comes to my area.
Also I must metion the visuals that went along with the music. Robert's buddy came down from Seattle to play this pre-cut visual movie which was perfectly suited to go along with Robert's set of music. Very, Very nice. I have to admit I left at the intermission since the seats provided to sit on were all hard plastic and a bit rickedy. My but go so num in the 1st 1.5 hour segment I could make it any longer. Robert was going to play his custom built lasers in the second set but I missed out on that.
Yes Paul, the Frac modules were there. It was a tease since all of the synth gear was unplugged and pushed to the side to make way for the show. Now that I know where Analogue Haven is compared to my house I will be going there to tinker with them and the other fine gear "soon". What a powerful evening!!!! Congrats to MOTM for being such a large part of Robert's amazing show and studio repetoire.
