Here’s a weird question.
IKEA has these small lamps with the bulb enclosure at theend of a pair of telescoping rods. (They’re in IKEA’s Magiker series;they’re only about $12 each). I was thinking they might be good for ontop of the modular, so that the lighting could shine down and back onto thefaceplates.
But I noticed in the store that they have some kind oftransformer brick. I don’t really know the theory behind halogen lights—itsays they’re 12 volts--but seeing that brick kind of reminds me of afluorescent light’s transformer and makes me think that maybe a lamp likethis would not be a good mix with audio equipment.
Does anyone know for sure?

Thanks in advance.
