Subject: MOTM-320 Waveshaper

From: "Paul Schreiber" <synth1@...

Just so there is no "I thought it did it a different way!" emails.....

A ∗very cheesy∗ GIF file of the effect the VC waveshape has on the '320 SAW
wave is at

www.synthtech.com/demo

Just so there is no confusion: the SHAPE control does the following:

a) For TRI, no effect
b) for SINE, it goes from a "humpy" shape to a normal sine to a "peaky"
shape
c) for SAW, it goes from positive-going Saw to TRI at 1/2 amplitude and with
a DC offset to a negative Saw
d) for PULSE, it goes from 0 to 100% duty cycle

Mainly to point out, the SAW ∗does not∗ vary the leading/falling edge rates
at a constant frequency.
This is a non-trival thing to do, and anyway the VC Lag on LIN mode can
convert the PULSE to this
type of waveform (although the controls between the two are interactive).
