I totally dig that idea! Of course, the knob would have to go to 11...

I have an Aphex and I like ot for certain things too. Often, I'll get
crummy-sounding cassette recordings in to the studio that people want CD's
burned, the Aphex is great for getting back some highs and lows. Also, it
does sound great on snare and toms, I'll often run a stereo toms mix
through a compressor then into the Aphex, really makes 'em stand out in a
mix. Am less enamored of it on bass guitar, though, the DBX 120 subharmonic
synth is my "magic box" for bass, when used sparingly it really adds clean
low presence that doesn't interfere with the kick.

"...there will come a day when you won't have to use
gasoline. You'd simply take a cassette and put it in
your car, let it run. You'd have to have the proper
type of music. Like you take two sticks, put 'em
together, make fire. You take some notes and rub 'em
together - dum, dum, dum, dum - fire, cosmic fire."
