Subject: RE: [motm] The poll

I totally agree with Adam here. I too have been
increasingly using FPE for making panels for Tony's
modules, and also for additional diy projects, mostly
19" front panels.
Also, John Loffink pointed out similar aspects:
the whole thing is getting more and more expensive;
personally, I'm only too happy if I can reduce some of
the costs of FPE, because that money can then go into
additional modules/circuits/other diy projects.
I do have several anodized panels in use (black,
blue, even 2 provocative gold ones) and I'm very very
happy with their appearance! Also, I don't see any
fingerprints (dust is more of a concern...). And Adam
is also right about the small variations in the
silkscreen in Paul's modules.... as it has been
pointed out before: it's about the sound and noise,
the exterior look is secondary. The important thing is
the form factor (that includes pots and jacks) which
is kept standard.
If the Stooges are considering to offer a
FPE-like service, that would definitely be a great
thing! Those of us who are also on the SDIY mailing
list are aware that an FPE-like service would receive
lots of positive reactions. That, I think, would be an
advantage price- and marketwise for the
MOTM-community.

Best,
Dino
