I've been thinking about this tragic and heartbreaking event for the last
few days. I really haven't come to believe it quite yet... and I'm not
quite sure what I'm feeling, even at this point, so expressing it in words
is not easy... (my apologies for rambling).

Obviously, I'm shocked and saddened, and strangely even a bit pissed off.
Like many others here I have never met Larry nor his wife, yet I feel a
tremendous loss. I guess I feel a little awkward about being affected so
strongly, because that sort of implies I had some sort of special
relationship with him that is now gone, like losing a close friend or family
member. But as I think about it, I believe most of us here built a special
relationship with Larry in our own way over time. He was the type of
individual who's personality transcended the communication medium. He
rubbed off on you. You didn't need to meet him to know that he was a
honest, humble and generous person - like others have said: "he was one of
the good ones". In my case, he me feel right at home on many an occasion on
this list, especially when I first joined over 4 years ago. He greeted me
warmly and warned me of "The Addiction", and we then exchanged about a half
dozen personal emails about our background and what got us into synths. At
one point he sent me some 12ga wire when I casually inquired, and he asked
nothing in return. He was selfless. Even the little things, like the way
he packaged shipments, showed his obvious care for what he did and in his
fellow comrades.

I know I'm repeating the story here. Many of these types of comments have
been made earlier. That just goes to show you how special Larry was in our
lives, even if you never really sat down and thought about it. How fragile
life is. We should remember to nurture our relationships, not take them for
granted. Life can be gone in an instant.

My warm thanks to you Jim for sharing your heartfelt thoughts. My thoughts
and prayers are with you and your family.

appreciated.
