Well, that is part of the purpose of Larry's magic bus Doug. It would
provide some normalled connections and some mutliples, and really whatever
each user might want. The primary difference is that what Paul will be
offering is a 1U rack space module. That should provide space for 40 jacks
(2 rows of 20) following the same spacing as the MOTM modules. If I was
planning to stay with a rack, this is exactly what I would want. And, the
purpose is exactly as you have suggested, to provide connections to the
modules directly below so as to avoid cables transversing up and down
between rows as much as possible.

My magic bus strip is the same thing designed for those of us planning to
house our MOTM modules in "Moog style" wooden cases. So, instead of 10
units wide like a MOTM rack, it will be 24 units wide (to match the case
width). Since it will be so wide (that's 48 jacks across), I decided to go
with 1 row of jacks instead of two (I thought 96 jacks below each row would
be a tad excessive). So my magic bus (someone else coined that name, not
me) is only 7/8 inches tall (1/2 rack space).

I'm glad to see Paul coming out with these as I believe that horizontal
multiples just below the modules make much more sense that a multiple panel
some place on the synth that looks like "phone company central" once you
get a few multiples made up.

So, you and I are thinking the same Doug. Now, what it is they say about
great minds think...... HA HA.
