I have both: they are very very different filters. At a high level, I
would say that the SVF is a more 'normal' filter, while the 480 has a
real wild side to it. The SVF has a gorgeous warm fat tone to it, and
you can use all 4 outputs independently. The 480 is also warm, but
can turn very nasty indeed. It's nice to have separate outs on the
480 for the two filters (yesy, there are two filters on the 480). For
the music that I do, I ∗slightly∗ prefer the SVF, but I refuse to give
up the 480.
