I agree - for example, a balanced cable plugged into an unbalanced input/output does not make the signal balanced. The circuitry has to be balanced. Look up "common mode rejection" (aka CMR) on google or some other search engine to get info on how balanced signals work compared to unbalanced. On gear with balanced I/O you will see the CMR ratio in the specs.
someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i think it's the pieces of gear which balance the signal, not the cable.so all TRS cables are the same >Are all TRS cables balanced by default?
