Richard,
This sounds interesting. I would like to see the panel and are you
making your mods available online?
Greg

Subject: [motm] Custom panel for MOTM-480

I am planning to put my MOTM-480 into a custom 2U panel in order to make
the two filters independently accessible. Each filter will have the
following panel features:

3 Pots: Frequency, Resonance, FM (reversible)
6 Jacks: Input, FM input, 1V/Oct input, resonance VC input, bandpass
and lowpass outputs.

The high pass output from the first filter will go to the normalling lug
of the second filter input jack. The RES, FM, and 1V/OCT inputs to the
first filter will normalize to the same inputs on the second filter. In
other words, the module will be normalized to the original 480
configuration. The only missing feature is the 3-input mixer. Very
little circuit modification is required. I will add two output buffers
for the two additional outputs. The board will mount on a 4-pot long
Stooge bracket (with 4th pot area cut to allow jacks) to accomodate the
differences in panel wiring.

I have a Front Panel Express panel design that I'm happy to share if
anyone wants it. I have not ordered it yet. I was wondering if there
is sufficient interest to have a Stooge panel made for this. I would
prefer the Stooge panel finish so the module will match my other MOTM
filters. I realize that getting a number of people to agree on a custom
panel design is not so easy. But I thought I would suggest it.

P.S. I have FPE designs for 1U panels for the MOTM-420 and MOTM-440,
which omit the input mixers but have all other features. But I'm less
keen on making these.
