Subject: Bass and resistors

I finished putting together my first batch of modules last night and
got to actually play the synth a little bit. The first thing that
grabbed me was the BASS! I thought I had some synths with bass before
(Super Jupiter, Andromeda), but the MOTM absolutely kills any synth
I've ever owned or played. It just leaps out of the speakers. I can't
wait until my second oscillator comes so I can start doing some real
damage.

I have a little tip for first time kit builders. Instead of soldering
resistors one at a time, place them all first. I would go to a step,
find the resistor value, measure each one to make sure I had the
correct value, then put them in the board. Once all of the resistors
were placed, I would solder them all. This way, if I happened to put a
part in the wrong hole, I wouldn't have to de-solder it to change it
out. I would get the the next step, say "oh, there's already a part in
R17," and then put them in their proper places. (I think this might
have happened one time.) I did this for the capacitors and other
related parts as well when possible.
