a) Everyone that ordered a MOTM-480 kit should have it (them) in your hot little
hands within 1 week.
b) the MOTM-485 kits are next in line BUT....I am ∗delaying∗ them until April so
I can focus on VCO kits, assembled modules and pcb/mechanical layout for the
'650. My wife is having rotator cuff surgery on her shoulder this week, her mom
had brain surgery 3 weeks ago and is still 6 weeks in hospital. Got to reduce
effort here on the homefront a bit. The joys of a "home business" (like eating
"jumbo shrimp"). Everyone enjoy their '480s kits for the next 5 weeks :)
∗∗∗∗∗∗∗IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT THE POINTS SYSTEM FOLLOWS ∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗
Dec 1 of 2005 will be the ∗last day∗ for the MOTM points system. This means
'earning' them or cashing them in. If you are unfamiliar with this system, read
the last section of the MOTM PDF catalog.
1) if you are unsure of how many points you have, it's pretty simple: 1 point
per module (including mults and power supplies). This means modules you have,
purchased directly from ∗me∗, not bought second-hand.
2) if you've never 'cashed them in', then just count them up :)
3) if you HAVE used points in the past, I keep a record. Requests for "how many
points do I have" emails are Priority Negative Infinity. Meaning, look, YOU
figure it out and keep track, I will look only before the dates listed below.
4) if you have specific questions (how to cash in, etc), please email me, not
the list.
5) ∗current∗ requests for the freebies/discounts will ALL ship by April 1. There
will be only ∗2∗ more ship dates for these: Aug. 1st and Dec. 15th. This is
∗plenty∗ of time to save up, figure out your status, and pick and choose.
I understand that this system swayed many folks towards MOTM. That was the
∗intent∗ and it worked :) But that was 5500 modules and 470 customers ago and 4
∗competitors∗ ago. I have to look at my profit margins and the impact of the
next major headache to deal with, call RoHS (start reading here:
http://www.leadfree.org/LF_1-0.htm) which will be a MAJOR PARADIGM SHIFT in not
just MOTM but everyone else looking to the next 4 years.
