It's alive!
http://home.comcast.net/~sduck409/mc.jpgI just finished the cabinet, so I finally have a place to put the
modules I've completed so far. Many more to come. At my current pace,
it'll take 5 years to finish, not bad.
I hope this makes Paul happy - he had conniptions when I told him I
was just putting my finished modules in the closet for the time being.
This synth started out as a dream project back in college, back when I
was in the fledgling TIMARA program at Oberlin Conservatory. Then life
intervened. 24 years later, I fessed up to my alcoholic nature,
entered rehab, started going to AA meetings, and have begun living and
enjoying my life again. That was a year and a half ago. I soon
realized I had some extra time and money that wasn't being spent
drinking, and I happened upon a web page called synthesizers.com, and
decided to see if I could build the delayed synth.
Please don't quiz me about my module choices - it's been pretty random
so far. I've got a lifetime to refine this thing, after all!
It makes some pretty gnarly sounds already!
