Very cool idea. 30U of modules!!! And you could probably mount the PSU on the back somewhere.
The very top tier of modules should be a problem since 5 1/4" at the top and at least 3 7/8" at
the bottom (probably at least 4 /18"). The bottom tier on the top presents the problem with a
range of 3 7/8" (or a little less) to 2 1/2". Ouch! Mults would be good there. And possible
Encore Electronics modules since the PCBs are mounted parallel to the FP instead of perpendicular.
The other option on the bottom is to do the funky vertically mounted module thing using the
standard rack rails. If you had 2 2U modules mounted horizontally on the top of the bottom tier,
you would have 3U below to mount shallow depth effects processors (or the like). For the modules,
you might want to mount them so that the PCB was toward the "top" to leave to have some extra
clearance on the bottom.
The bottom is great! Any module will fit in there. That leaves 1U for either something like
effects or 1U of horizontal mounting space for 1 or 2 1U modules.
If you try this, please post a pic!
Cheers!
