Another interesting program you can find free on the net is Music Box.
It runs only on Dos, and has a steep learning curve, but somewhat familiar
to the modular enthusiast. You basic plug together modules like random
note generator, rythmic generators, etc.

Also, for those looking at using a lot of these legacy programs, Linux has
emulators for Dos, Amiga, Atari, Macitosh 68k, Commodore 64, Windows, etc.
Quite a few people have had success w/ these programs. See more info at:
