I took delivery of my 2 row slant cabinet on Friday, and have to say for the
price they're quite nice. This batch of Walnut has come highly touted, and I
must agree that it looks wonderful.
As Larry says on his cabinet page, you don't need stain when finishing these
cabinets. Since I'm also in line for some currently out-of-stock Stooge
Rails and screws as well, I decided to take my time with the finish, and do
a rubbed Tung-oil finish. So far, with about 3 coatings/rubbings, the thing
looks beautiful, though not overly glossy--- ∗and∗ that's under the very
un-complimentary fluorescent light in my shop. :-)
Those of you in line for Stooge cabinets will most likely be very pleased
with them. I sure am! I am only sorry that getting good cabinet makers is so
difficult...
I promise pictures when I'm done with the finish.
