"I still think the MOTM format needs a
really good delay. Delay is crucial for making many interesting
sounds." from Mike

Man -I can't agree more on this!

Having been into the synth thing (as a pathetic sod) for virtually
all my life - and this spans from mid-60s to present - I have had the
priviledge of seeing the evolution of synthesis first hand and as it
developed technologically AND musically - especially as a
technician/repair guy for the latter period- what I'd call the most
exciting and 'quantum-leap' type of periods...midi,sampling, etc...

(I am sorry to have missed the Telharmonium and Ondes Martenot(sp?)
periods - but sometimes I think I was there too! OOOOOOO -
Halloween stuff indeed!)

From what I've experienced buying way too many keyboards over the
years, and by far the most "bizzare sounds or synthesis capabilities"
(and mind you this is just a matter of taste - and there's NO
accounting for that) came with the machines that have "time shifting
capabilities" or: delays. This also includes 'spatial perceptions',
etc - that have become an important part of modern electronic music.

My Kurz K2500 with the KDFX expansion pack - does stuff I just cannot
describe - stuff I've never heard before but have always thought
about or dreamed of. And I have messed around with the top Lexicon
stuff prior to this...nothing even close.

I'm sure the KYMA guys (and this I'm not too familiar with - as my
current equipment list has bankrupted me - for quite some time I'm
afraid) would agree - as they explore that system.

My point being - a digital delay w/CV modulation capabilites of ALL
parameters(I think this is the only way to go without having 'a
module' the size of your house)is by far the most effective at
creating "sounds that have never been heard before" - which I believe
is a sales pitch used WAY to much in a field where much does sound
rather the same really.

Just my humble opinion - and the biggest potential bang for your buck
on a module by module basis.

So get algorithmizing!
(the thought is even painful to me - a hardware, not a software guy)
