Phooey on that!

Currently I've got two rows of 16 modules each...

Osc's are grouped on the left on both rows
Filters are pretty much grouped in the middle - both rows

Control modules all around - current configuration figured by where I
NEED stuff the most... I need to have EG's scattered about in different
places, since they're all being used to control different stuff all over
the system.

So, there's at least an LFO or two, EG's and a VCA near the OSC's
More LFO's and EG's near all the filters
Some mixing/EG's/VCA's on either side of the filter clump as well

Signal pretty much runs left to right, but if I had all my EG's or LFO's
clumped in one place I'd be running 36" patch cords somewhere every
single time I needed to patch something up.

Planning my 3rd tier now. Waiting on a Milton to put up there, along
with other clock/logic/sequence/gate type stuff. Milton will probably
go in the middle of the top row - with other stuff arranged around
it...less used modules on the outside....more often used toward the
inside...

Ok, so things are scattered. But, since I work with the system all the
time, I can almost find what I want with the lights off and in general,
I use shorter cables for my patches than I would if I went with pure
"clumping".

Works for me..

This is a very individual thing for each modular user, and is also the
beauty of modulars. I could hand all my modules to somebody else and
they'd probably NEVER come up with the same arrangement that's making me
happy, but that's OK because they have to be comfortable with how it's
set up for them...

Ok, let's all sing along....

"happy, happy, joy, joy........"
