I will probably go with a Weller WTCPT. I understand it is reliable
and more than adequate for my level of planned use. However, I still
have no idea what tips to get for building the kits!?!

Ironically, the tip that came with it is exactly what works best, looks kind
of like a regular flat bladed screw driver, only smaller of course, it
distributes the heat "just right" for the kits.
