It does only if you are buying ∗one∗ output module. Many folks will want 2-10 output modules, and
they do not want 2-10 headphone amps!


As a user, I agree that the headphone amp belongs on the output module, but I really see Paul's point too. Maybe you should (counterintuitively) have a dual module "phono in & headphone monitor" module -- separate inputs for each of course. Rarely would someone have more than one or two phono inputs.

OTOH, a slightly more advanced headphone "output" module might be useful for those who use there system live. Where the signal in to the headphone output could be switched from the ∗live∗ output to a preview. I assume Robert Rich does something like this in performance.

BTW, any other MOTMers see Rich in Pomona last week?
