Subject: back on 2U high power supply panels

Several of you have asked me about 2U high panels for rack mounting your
MOTM power supplies. There has never been enough interest for me to gear up
to do this. Many of you may have seen the prototype:

I have not forgotten about you. But, the 1/8 aluminum we make Stooge panels
from has too much flex for this job. So, there has not been enough interest
to gear up and produce these as a new steel product. I have visions of them
stacked up in my garage next to the SKB backs.

But, I saw this link posted on Synth DIY:
http://www.markertek.com/custom.html

Looks like these guys could make a custom engraved panel for the power
supply AND punch the holes for the remounting of the MOTM power supply
connectors and such. We could have the holes cut so that conversion was a
simple hand tool job for those who are mechanically declined. You could
simply remount your MOTM supply hardware on this panel.

I have sent some questions off to this guy about the panel material and
strength and discounts for quantities. However, this is clearly something
that could be one-off work so each person could get exactly what they
wanted. Anyhow, when I get some info back I will post it to the list in
case of either:

1. You guys wanting that stuff can follow up on it yourself.
or
2. There is enough interest in the same design where I could negotiate a
quantity discount.

If you have any specific interest in this e-mail me. I am not wanting to be
a middle man for profit on this deal. But, since I have not been able to
supply this panel that some of you wanted, I thought you might appreciate
this option. Maybe Dave B could do the common artwork file for his normally
reasonable artwork fee. Other than that, I am not looking for any income on
this.

Let me know. If nothing else, once I have some questions answered and posted
to the list those interested can follow up individually.

P.S. Stooge panel printing is well underway and some of the panels start
shipping to Dave in the next few days.
