Subject: Re: Module Separations--please don't get mad

This has ben covered in the past, but as a repeat:

I ∗can't∗ have this screened on. Why? the silkscreen machine "won't let me".
Can't screen within 0.100 of an outside
edge.

How did Moog do it?

Well, he "didn't"! He used 'reverse anodizing', a ∗very∗ expensive process
to
apply the black conent to aluminum panels. The edges are not painted, and
have
clear zinc chromate coating. This costs about $20 per 1U panel! And, the
problem is that
there is a 20% reject rate because you can't control the "blackness" of the
plating very well
batch-to-batch (sort of lke wool dyeing).

One of these centuries I will see if a 'U' channel plastic extrusion can be
made to snap-over
the edges. But the die will cost $1800, probably!

Best solution: ChartPak white tape.
