Subject: Cabinet kit preliminary info and photos on line

Now that cables are behind me, it is cabinet kit time. I spoke to the
cabinet maker yesterday. He has recovered from his surgery, has retired
from his job, and it ready and willing to start building the cabinet kits.
We will first be working on the 1-row straight, then the 2-row straight
(like top NAMM cabinet). After we get through all of the challenges
associated with getting those right for the first time, we will move to the
2-row slant. If we can accomplish all that, I will "consider" a 1-row
reverse slant for the top row. PCB brackets make those cabinets a
completely new challenge.

Currently, plans are to offer three side profiles: 1-row straight, 2-row
straight, and 2-row slant with the latter two being just like the NAMM
cabinets. The widths are planned for easy multiples of the Stooge product
flat rails. I am thinking, 18U (Synth of Doom width) and 24U (NAMM width)
and possibly 27U (classic Moog width) or 30U (damn big). However, flatrails
will not be required. You can screw your modules directly to the wood like
dot com if you prefer.

If you have an interest in purchasing these kits, I encourage you to browse
the photos of the prototype and give me comments and feedback. Final plans
will somewhat depend on your feedback. Please don't clog the comment line
if you are not planning to purchase.

I do not have prices yet. I hope to establish those with the cabinet maker
when we meet tonight. I can only promise at this time to stay well below
dot com cabinet pricing.

According to my wife, there will be no more major shipping until after my
son's wedding on May 17th. So, we can get started soon, but I will be
unable to deliver anything for 6 weeks or so.
