The other problem I see with the virtual synthsbesides the modulation problem is that the controls are all quantized ratherthan being continuous, that is they all operate in discrete steps. This makes it impossible to smoothlycontrol certain parameters on the fly without introducing artifacts. Perhaps with enough levels, or bits ofresolution these artifacts could be minimized, but that takes more horsepower. Even in my ProToolssystem, which has over 30 DSP chips, I cannot vary certain parameters on thefly without introducing zipper noise.
