Subject: Re: [motm] MOTM Inverters?

I forgot to point out that each mixer-comparator module actually has two
inverters that can be used independently. The output of the mixer is
already inverted. If you switch the inverter to the comparator, you can
separately invert a pulse going into the comparator input. (The original
positive pulse phase will also be available at the comparator output.)

An electrical standard I've adopted for my synthesizer is that all pulse
outputs are roughly +/-5V (rather than 0 to +xV) so that these waveforms can
be inverted when being used for control purposes. (If you invert a 0 to
+10V signal around ground, it never goes positive and won't work as a gate.)
Being able to invert a pulse come in handy, since certain actions take place
on different edges. For example the MOTM-800 EG gate input uses a rising
edge and a positive gate, but the trigger input triggers on a falling edge.
Sometimes I want to trigger the 800 in sync with some other event being
gated off a positive signal. An external pulse inverter does the trick.
