last year a double CD of live weather report material was released. Some from 75, some from 77, and some 83. Its perhaps the "best" weather report available. I strongly recommend it. Its great for checking out how Zawinul approached his orchestrations in a live setting.
I havnt really checked out Zawinul Syndicate, but I remember hearing some stuff two years ago or so where he was doing some interesting things with some vocal samples. Back in the day he did some things with his 2600 where he inverted the keyboard....Im not quite sure which recordings have that.
