I have three of these. And that's where the cables end up when I clean the
studio. But while I'm working? They are draped over the cabinet, my
shoulders, and like Paul says, in a big ball on the floor.
It's kind of like oil painting. Who puts the caps back on the tubes while
they're painting? You clean up later.

What's all this talk about cables laying on the floor?! Mouser sells a cable
management claw (I think they call it a "test lead holder") for something
like $15. These are useful beyond measure! You can either mount them on the
side of a cabinet, into a wall, on the side of an a-frame keyboard stand, or
on a mic stand for portability.
best,
