Welcome aboard. I'm sure many of use have tried the soft synth route.
It seems so economical, but you lose so much in the process. I was a
heavy user of Reaktor, even a beta tester for a time, but when it came
time for real time interaction the limitations became clear. Using a
mouse is pathetic. Now map all those buttons, sliders, knobs and LEDs to
a MIDI control surface in a way that makes sense. It's almost
impossible. It became clear why most people ended up using Reaktor for
building preset synthesizers.
