As with all other MOTM modules, this one does respond favorably to
abuse :)

I use it mainly with a Roland EV-5 pedal. I don't have the info in
front of me regarding voltages, but I think that's on the site. Some
people hate the Roland pedal and prefer the Yamaha pedal (model
number escapes me). Some people have modified the 850 to interface
with a joystick. I think taht info is on Stooge Larry's (the
designer of the original concept) site. Search this list's archive
for lots of info on the 850 and pedals.

One more cool thing about the 850: it's a gate source! So you could
do stuff like bring in another timbre by stepping on the pedal
simultaneously to controlling a CV.

Pretty cool!
