Of all the performers in the world that could endorse your synthesizer,
Roger Powell is THE MAN. I think it is safe to say that this man was
integrally involved in the historical development of synthesizers both
at ARP and Moog (he may have been an artist-in-residence with one
or both --- don't remember). At any rate, after joining Todd Rundgren's
Utopia, his scorching, mind-bending lead synth solos on tunes like
"The Seven Rays", "Mr. Triscuits", the whole RA album,"Caravan"
and many others set the standard (at least to my ears) of what a lead synth
solo should sound like. His solo album AIR POCKET (Bearsville, 1980)
remains on my top ten album list to this day. In addition to possessing
excellent jazz-rock fusion chops, he is also a proponent of the
hands-on, D.I.Y. Imperative, as he developed the Powell Probe,
a pre-MIDI strap-on keyboard controller, and several other hardware and
software based products. Yes, I'm a fan, and I am glad that Roger is still
alive, well, and is still playing synths, as well as guitars.
Gee, Paul, who's next? Larry Fast? Tomita? Wendy Carlos?
