Subject: Another MOTM T-Shirt??? + much more....

From: Tentochi <tentochi2003@...>

Robert Rich has a T-shirt available for his great
MOTM-based Bestiary album. It has a great picture of
a Glurp on it. Check it out:

In case you don't have a copy of the incredible CD
already, here it is along with some nice pics and 2
MP3s:

Here is his 7-hour DVD Somnium. I don't think the
MOTM was used on this. Paul? This is optimized for
playing while you sleep.

Here is his newest release (Outpost) which also has
Ian Boddy on it. Robert uses his MOTM extensively on
this collaboration.

Since I killed the frames with my links, here is the
front page for your further exploration:

I am not quite sure, but now he has the definitive
Rober Rich online at:

Remember that we have Robert (along with Carter
Scholz) to thank indirectly for having the MIDI
Microtuning Standard in the MOTM-650.

Hopefully Robert will work with Paul and the
programmers to incorporate all of the changes and
additions that have been made since 1996 including,
but not limited to:

Scale/Octave Tuning
Scale/Octave Tuning Defaults
MIDI Tuning Bank/Dump Extensions
Redefinition of RPN01 and RPN02 (Channel
Fine/Course Tuning)

Changing the tuning bank and program numbers is found
at the bottom of this page:

John gives a lot of different "standard" tunings here.
I or someone else should try and convert these into
MIDI files so that the PC and Mac frontends can
download them easily to the '650. There are a lot of
glaring omissions in this list such as pelog (7-, 6-,
5-, 4- and 3-tone) and slendro (4- and 5-tone) tunings
(all of these represent different aspects of Balinese
and Javanese style gamelan).

Sorry if this is all old news for a lot of you.
