hello there,
what you need is a gate extractor

you could get hold of an Oakley EFG envelope follower - and i should point
out that there's a MOTM envelope follower in the pipeline
or you could cobble a patch together using the MOTM700 router to to 'gate' a
voltage source (say from the MOTM830 mixer)
or there are some very simple DIY circuits for deriving a gate or trigger
from an audio signal (think like 3 components)
