So you want to know what that colored stuff is between the 1st row of
modules?
Frys, Colored wire tape. It sticks well & it cleans up well.
I had to do something, I am getting old (37) and the knobs just started to
run together as I started to play. Smoke would get into my eyes then the
pretty lights would start to call to me, as I drifted off into electronic
bliss, I would then reach out and grab what I thought was a filter cutoff
knob and wildly move it about. Only to end up in a dissance driven hell.
The reason why the 2nd row does not have the colored tape is because I am
not convinced that will be my final assortment of modules in that row. The
1st row the audio path is normalled to the VCA for easy VCO tuning.
The cabnet is not done. The rack end covers are being installed today. And
as soon as I build my 410 (Paul?) I can remove the photoshop blank in the
lower portion of the case. There is a 3 space blank that is real but the 2
space is a unpainted 300 panel that has turned out to be quite helpfull as
template for drilling holes in custom panels. There will be a rear panel
that mounts snuggly to the rear. It will provide PS access as well.
The only other thing that is differnent from a stock MOTM is using one of
Pauls proto kits and a 2 space blank. I built my +-12 PS, 2 lag
processors, a voltage mixer with DC offset and a Doepfer LFO kluge.
Depending on how much money I have left I will fill the remaining with
MOTM stuff or proto boards with stuff.
Oh yes colored tape... But I said that already.
I will take more pictures of the cabnet soon.
BTW:The guy that makes them will make cabnets to order. He is a EM guy and
understands what we want. Let me know if your interested. I won't say that
he is cheap but I went initally to National Video Console (they made my
studio surface) they wanted more & gave less.
