Hello all-

Last week I was in NYC and visited a friend who is one of the librarians at
the Fales Library/Special Collection located inside the Bobst main library
at NYU.

After wowing me with uncountable first editions my friend informed me that
they had just finished archiving the collected notes and scores of the late
John Watts.

For anyone who may be doing research on Watts or related composers I would
suggest taking a visit to the library. The archived documents include:

€ His scores.

€ A short letter from Muhammed Ali.

€ His college papers.

€ Correspondence in alphabetical order, professional and personal.

€ Correspondence between Watts and eqpt. Manufacturers.

€ Equipment manuals including orginal ARP 2500 & 2600 documentation.

€ Newspaper clipping from his events, his magazine interviews, pamphlets,
etc.

€ Various E-Music and music magazines.

€ Many, many, many audio and video recordings (unprocessed).

∗∗Please note∗∗ that this is a research library--i.e. They will photocopy
selected pages for you but this is not the place to go for a "free ARP
manual".

The library staff are friendly, professional, and quite familiar with their
collection. The Fales collection is far-ranging but has a special focus on
the works of many "Downtown" NYC media-artists from the 70's and 80's.
