My recent track includes many analogs so I thought it would be cool for
the people who enjoy hearing these machines in action. I just took about a
minute and a half of it and encoded it at 112 bit rate. Here it is:
http://www.inform3r.com/nevermind.mp3About the instruments used:
The bassline is made up of 2 sounds; one from a Blacet/Wiard Miniwave,
and the other from a Digisound VCDO which I would have never been able to
build without the help of fellow DIY'er Keith Winstanley. The Miniwave sound
is a Pulse waveform which has its shape (bank) modulated by a MOTM LFO
receiving clock from a Mobius sequencer. The Digisound VCDO is recognized by
its very "glassy" PPG-like tone. I also think this sound is somehow similar
to a tabla!
The video game type sound after the verse is none other than a
Sidstation. Very simple sound, just a square wave with the Sidstations "arp"
feature to make it more interesting.
My favorite sound in the piece is the very percussive noise hits at the
end of the track. This involved modulating 2 MOTM VCO's with their own
outputs/inputs. I then tweaked their Coarse Tuning knob to find the sweet
spot.
Thanks to all who took the time to listen. I hope you enjoyed it :)
cheers,
John
