Subject: Fwd: To use CEM or not.

From: JWBarlow@...

I'm sure I've said this before, but I wanted to re-post this from the DIY
list to the MOTM list (for those few who aren't on DIY) since I really liked
the ideas below, and thought that even if MOTM didn't do a Shepard Function
Generator or a Phaser (in the near future), maybe we could get some PCBs made
along these lines (a la Tomg).

Also the CEM 3378 is a VCXfader, VCLPF (VCQ), VCA and the 3379 is a VCLPF
(VCQ), VCA, VCpanner both of which are very simple circuits to build (and I
have it on good authority that Doug Curtis uses these himself <g>).

And I like the ideas about generalized VC BBDs too.

I repeat myself when under stress, I repeat myself when under stress, I .....

Isn't this the one Thomas Henry used in the PAL filter? It features
switchable phasor/all pass/low pass responses. I didn't realize you
had so many, and at only $10 each... Perhaps someone could make a
run of boards. Eight would be a good companion to a Shepard Function
generator.

Another interesting chip is the 3378. This has VCA, low pass filter w/
VC resonance, AND VC panner. Seems like a good candidate for a VC
stereo mixer.
