“Line lump” typically refersto a “wall wart” type design with an AC cord on one end, ratherthan plugging directly into the wall.  The conversion unit is a lump in themiddle of two cords, AC & DC, hence the name.

When you say "line lump" does that mean "wall wart"

Even with awall wart I think the first solution is probably the way
to go. I saythis because I think the 500 series are going to appeal
to a lot ofpeople who may just want them on their own. So an
individuallow cost-ish solution seems a good idea.

Any morenews or details on the 500,s - I'll take one of each now :)
