Subject: pots for Blacet??

I already have a Time Machine kit, and a Stooge panel on order, and I will
eventually order a Miniwave kit. I'm not in module-building mode right
now, but I ordered the TM just so I could get one before they run out.
Since pots are often backordered, I was thinking that perhaps it would be
wise to place my pots order now, so that I wouldn't have to wait when I was
ready to build. Afaik, I need ten 50K linear pots. I also need an
additional pot for a mod I am adding, most likely log.
The MOTM modules from Synthesis Technology seem to use Spectrol 149 for
PCB-mounted pots and Bourns 91 for panel-mounted pots. It doesn't seem
like Digikey sells Spectrol, and it doesn't seem like Mouser sells Bourns
91. Also it looks the Bourns 91 in the Digikey catalog are PCB mount. So
are the 149 in the Spectrol catalog. None of them have wire lugs for panel
mounting. There also seems to be a lack of offerings with log tapers.
I looked at hotrodmotm.com/parts_list.htm, but it didn't list any pots with
wire lugs, just "pc terminals". If I have to use PCB pots, what should I
do?? If necessary, which size and type of heat-shrink tubing would be
best??
What difference do cermet and conductive plastic make?? Is one or the
other better for certain applications??
Does anyone make high-quality 50K linear pots with center-detent??
Larry mentions a Spectrol 148 on his page, what is that??
For those of you in the U.S. who have built Blacet MOTM kits, which pots
did you use and where did you buy them??
THANX!! :)
