Subject: "MOTM-880" update

This is my back-burner project which I am slowly bringing to completion.
As stated before, the '880 is a bipolar EG designed to replace the
IG00152-based (custom Yamaha IC) EG as used on the CS-50, 60 and 80. As
with the CS-80 filter, I hope to see it made into an MOTM module. One
issue I am dealing with is that given this EG has voltage-controlled
everything (A,D,S,R, initial level, attack level, slope shape) as well as
a manual gate button and bicolor status LED, it is just not practical to
fit all of the panel hardware onto a 2U plate.
Therefore, I am proposing the 'MOTM-880E' as an expansion 1U panel to
the MOTM-880. Given that the dual OTA in the '880 is left with one unused
section, it seems a shame to never use it. The '880E would be a 'OTA' VCA
normalled to the EG CV, where jacking in an external CV would supercede
this normalizaion. I would place the EG's slope shape CV jack on the
880E, which makes everything else fit nicely on the 2U 880. The 880E
would have three signal inputs (2 AC, 1 DC) with an A/B mix knob and a
separate C level knob, and a CV level knob. The VCA
response is linear, given that the EG can provide a variable-slope CV.
I suppose this could all be made into a 3U panel, but I really want to
keep the EG to 2U. The only thing lost if one never adds the 880E is the
shape CV jack (though, its connection would still be on the PC board--it
would just need to have a jack mounted elsewhere).
