And if you go look on the Wersi site, the Galaxy is no longer in production. There's newer improved models! Listen to the cheezy demo sound files by Claudia Hirschfeld, who is a competent "concert pop" organist. There's actually a lot of synth technology packed into these things....they load Akai sound disk, built in HD recording, full XG + GM standard.... About as much as your standard Yamaha or Roland synth these days! <<<
Just to add something. The reason I brought up the Galaxy in the first place was because others were bringing up acoustic instruments as the ultimate analog machines. That was incorrect since they weren't analog. But the Galaxy is the ultimate 100% analog machine as far as price, size and impressive looks. There's a couple of 2044 filter chips in it, similar to what the MOTM filters were modeled after. There's about 6 BBD delay chips for great chorus and rotary effects. It's a good sounding organ / synth as can be heard in the MP3.
But like everybody else, Wersi went digital. However with 208 voices of polyphony, built in vocoder, B3 modeling and a million other things, they are no slouches. And their latest keyboard is the only one in the world I know of that can run PC applications like Cubase with it's onboard PC and burn CDs too. It's a full music studio which allows you to go from composing/performing to finished burned CD without leaving the keyboard.
As for adding Midi to your old organs so you can in turn control your MOTM from them via Midi to CV, the other list member who also has a Galaxy pointed me to Doepfer. They make a Midi control circuit board. I may put one in my Moog Taurus bass pedals to give it Midi capability. If anybody has used one of them, please let me know if all it needs is a closed non-debounced contact to trigger/gate a note. The docs weren't very detailed about that.
