keyboards or indicating devices with various scales printed and swap them at

is limited only by your imagination of drawing the appropriate stop points

This occurred to me as well. With a common electronic i/f, like the pedal
i/f, you could play with all sorts of nutbag, microtonal controller ideas
that were essentially limited by your woodworking skills.
