I'm not using any washers on my modules. I've screwed and unscrewed
some of them a dozen times already and they aren't showing any signs
of scratching. It may depend on how tightly you attach the screws. I
don't attach mine too tightly because I know I'll be moving them
around again. OTOH, using washers shouldn't do any harm. I use black
plastic (nylon?) washers on all my 19" rack gear because those screws
are much tighter.
