The following link is an excellent resource for learning more about
electronics. This site is not specific to analog synthesizers but it does
help one understand many of the circuits used in synthesizers. There are
some wonderful animations that very graphically demonstrate circuit
operation. The tutorials are worth logging a lot of time on this site.
Drill down to "TELEVISION" for example and see animations of how your TV
works. Fascinating. See how the location and value of bypass capacitors
affect circuit operation, in an animated setting.

Speaking of learning electronics, etc.... I've been looking at old
datasheets and the one thing that holds me back from prototyping some simple
circuits is my lack of understanding for "ground." I know it sounds
incredibly clueless, but the concept has always eluded me. Let me explain.
Take for instance a simple circuit like a non-inverting amp using a 741. Its
easy to see how to prototype a circuit like this, but I never know where
"ground" goes! I see the symbol, but I have no clue how to implement it in
the circuit. I know it sounds lame, but I feel like its the one small thing
holding me back from gaining further knowledge. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
John
