Subject: another movie sound effect bites the dust

From: "Sikorsky" <vulture.squadron@...>
Date: 2002-03-27

hello all,
cross posted - so the usual apologies...
while trying to make the MOTM850 work as an envelope follower i think i
managed to make the insect dialogue sound out of "meet the applegates" -
true to modular form the patch actually omits the 850 all together

so roughly:
drum loop sent to short reverb
reverb only output multed into oakley envelope follower (efg) & wavefolder
oakley efg fast out into motm lag processor
lag output to wavefolder threshold cv & motm 420 fm1
wavefolder output to motm 420 hpf
motm 420 output back to console
the whole thing fx sent back into efg & wavefolder

erm, it's difficult to explain without writing the patch down - and i have
an allen & heath gs3 console, which makes feedback patching a breeze
if anyone has some insects they want to annoy - let me know and i'll
endeavour to document the patch over the bank holiday weekend

cheers
paul b
ps - anyone who has a pc and needs to read soundfiles on mac formatted
disks - get "mac opener 2000" from www.dataviz.com it's only $49,
unfortunately i didn't manage to convert the itinerys & budgets that i
needed to in the first place, but i had great fun with some old soundfiles i
found
using sound forge there's a trick involved - open the file as raw data then
select the most likely format from the prest list

oh yes - and the moral of the day - before denouncing your copicat tape echo
as broken, make sure the tape loop isn't inside out to start with...
