Subject: RE: Quadtrature Osc / Shepard Function Generator

In addition to voltage-controlled panning, how about these ideas:

---Four VCOs being slightly frequency modulated by a quadrature oscillator
to provide a lush 'ensemble' sound. Unlike standard vibrato with a single
LFO, or even with four independent ones, the VCOs would be held at a
constant, precise detune level (perhaps controllable by Mod Wheel).

---Same as above, but controlling pulse width.

---How about a sine from a Quad LFO controlling pitch while it's 90-degree
shifted variant controls pulse width? The harmonic spectrum of the pulse
would change, but be realted to, the oscillator's position in its detune
swing; i.e., it would be 'Square' at its exact pitch, but have a more
squeezed duty cycle as the vibrato pushes to either (+/-) extreme.

---Use quadrature outputs from a VC-LFO to control the switching of one or
more MOTM-700 Router modules.

Could be fun!

Just daydreaming. ---Ken
