Subject: Re: [motm] Stackable 1/4" Plugs?

You know, as crazy as this sounds.... It does lend itself to another
interesting question for something almost like you are discussing. What
about when you have a voltage you want to take only 2 different places? How
many times do we use a 4-square jack mult for 1IN - 2OUT? Instead of
stringing a cable to the mult and then back from the mult to the two
separate destinations, how about one of these two ideas:

1. Have a handful of portable mults. These would be a VERY short "Y" cable
with one male and 2 females (flexible, not stiff). You plug it to the
source, plug the two cables tight into it and take them directly where they
go. You reduce cable clutter by one cable and don't string out of your way
to get to a mult. You would not use these for mults with many cables. But
how many times are we just going 2 places. Even 3 would work. Think of
them as highly portable 3 jack mults.
--or--
2 - have a cable that has an the "Y" at one end, so you can always piggy
back on a second cable.
--or--
3. Keep quite a few cables in your system, that have one 1/4 plug at one
end with 2 cables coming out the same length to separate 1/4" plugs.
anytime you knew you were going to 2 separate locations, just use pick up a
"dual" cable.

The issue is reliable 1/4 female jacks that go onto cable if you do 1 or 2.
I have never found really good ones.

Subject: [motm] Stackable 1/4" Plugs?

The idea just came upon me. I remember a discussion about bananna
plugs vs. 1/4", and i don't remember if the concept of stackable 1/4"
plugs came in. Granted, they'd stick out like mad, but I'm certain
it's feasable. Does anybody make these? They'd have to be a bit
longer than the 1/4" plug itself on the outside, but you could make
the cable come out of the side at a diag. fairly easily without
mucking up your modular too much.

Does anybody know where we could find these?
