As always, Thomas is right about the Univibe (again another classic), I
remember the Electric Mistress as being fairly noisy though but sort of a
classic too.
As for the Moog, ARP, and the rest I haven't heard them -- Hey Joe! I'd
appreciate your thoughts on these and others.
I have an old Roland Jet Phaser which I like a lot, less for the sound than
how many things you can do with it. It has a footswitch for slow and fast LFO
settings and a built in fuzz as well as a switch for different taps -- all
very useful, like a mini synth. I keep threatening to put several
footswitches in it to replace the rotary switch to allow me to change it
while playing.
I also agree with the idea of having a generalized BBD system with VC in
everywhere to allow it to be configurable for delay, flanging, chorus, pitch
shifting, etc. -- this would be a good module for a lot of people, not just
guitar players.
And don't those germanium trannys give that caricature fuzz sound that I love
so much?
JB
BTW: guitar players looking for a small practice amp should try the Smokey
Amp. It's less than $30 and is housed in a cigarette box -- great sound!
