Subject: End cap buyers please read

Attention end cap purchasers:

The procedure I had planned to slot the end caps so they would fit
any-and-all racks, regardless of how "standard" they might be is NOT working
out. The metal side cutting tool has a tendency to drift to one side
leaving a hole that is not as pretty as I think it should be.

So, here is the deal. I am increasing the hole size in the end caps from
15/64 to 19/64. This adds an entire 1/16 inch of slop of side-to-side slop
for the end caps. I arrived at this hole size by selecting the largest hole
(for maximum slop) that would not show out from under the edge of the screw
when pushed all the way to one side or the other. This assumes a normal
head size on a 8/32 black phillips head screw like most of us use. If you
happen to use cap head screws, then I assume you are accustomed to using a
backing washer anyhow.

For metric users, the same is true for the M5 and M6 screws I have tried.

So, for you that have not yet received your end caps, this larger hole is
what to expect. If you have end caps that do not fit, I will happily drill
the holes for you if you return them to me.

Next time I do caps, I will slot them at the metal shop (easy for them,
almost no cost). However, I bought LOTS of caps this time, so my
expectation is that may not happen in the year 2002.

As always, your satisfaction is guaranteed. So, if you are not happy with
the larger hole end caps, or they still do not fit your rack, you can return
them for:

a - cheerful refund.
b - replacement caps with slots (no promises on delivery date).
c - free drilling to make them fit
