hello all,

after just setting up a mix on my computer - 8 audio outputs to console, no
midi slaves - i was just thinking,
of late i've been mixing stuff with NOT ONE effect over my motm tracks, no
reverb, no delay, not even any compression or eq, and they sound shit hot -
and i remember the bad old midi days (see ∗∗∗) when i had three multi-fx
running on every mix plus some old delays as well - even my beloved juno got
some hefty delay action

so, who else has noticed this..?
it just doesn't need it, or is it me going thru a mix phase..?

∗∗∗ i used to use old military surplus stuff and a Korg MS10 (gets sold to a
chap in Hull on Friday :-( then i got some insurance money and spent it on
studio stuff, after a while things got a bit tame and pedestrian - and
swamped in delay, although even though i say so myself i did some good
productions during that period, especially the time when one input of my Art
Multiverb was actually plugging into the bypass socket - very interesting
effect...
