The FNT format I'm familiar with is the old-fashioned Windows bitmap font.
Is that what you've got?

I don't know of such a conversion. If one existed it probably wouldn't
produce very good results. FNT fonts are bitmapped images at specific
sizes, while TTF files are curves (splines, paths, pick your favorite word)
that can be scaled to any resolution, and to deal with artifacts at low
resolutions contain a lot of "hint" data. Deriving paths from bitmaps can
be done, but not very precisely especially with a low resolution image (as a
Windows FNT file would be).

You can buy Alternate Gothic 2 in TrueType format. myfonts.com has it (from
Bitstream) for about $25 (a 5-user license FWIW). Maybe there's a font
collection that contains it, I'm not sure.

You may be able to get away with using the FNT in an image editor by drawing
text in the largest size the FNT contains (the larger the better) and then
scaling the image to the size/resolution you want, if you aren't too picky.
